Meet My Main Character

Let’s talk about Claire Monroe—my tough-as-nails heroine in Breach of Trust

You know the type: sharp-eyed, quietly capable, always three steps ahead. She’s a former firefighter turned Homeland Security investigator, and she can absolutely hold her own in a room full of tactical operators.

She’s the kind of woman who watches the room before she enters it—and marks every exit. Not because she’s afraid, but because she knows she’s the one who’ll have to handle whatever goes wrong.

Claire’s a fixer. Always has been.

People lean on her, confide in her, follow her lead—even when she doesn’t realize it. She’s brave, loyal, and fiercely protective of the people she loves. But the twist? She’s not used to letting anyone do the same for her.

Even when it costs her.

That tension—between control and vulnerability—is one of my favorite things to explore on the page. Watching her peel back those layers? That’s part of why I love writing her.

She’s complicated in the best way. Strong, but soft in the corners. Wounded, but never weak. Claire doesn’t know it yet, but the walls she’s built are about to meet their match—especially once Sam Warner re-enters the picture.

Writing Claire has been a lesson in subtle heartbreak and healing. She doesn’t break easily, but that doesn’t mean she’s whole. Watching her fall (reluctantly) back into Sam’s life—while uncovering a deadly conspiracy—is exactly the kind of romantic suspense tension I live for.

Because sometimes, the toughest characters to crack… are the ones worth waiting for.

I hope you'll stick around and follow Claire's story!

What is your favorite type of heroine to read? Strong? Soft? Funny? Serious?

Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time!

Happy Reading!
